Awareness-raising Workshop on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights
The National Human Rights Training Institute (INFDH)-Driss Benzekri hosted from 18 to 20 September 2018 in Rabat an awareness-raising workshop on sexual and reproductive health rights. This workshop aimed at reinforcing capacities of stakeholders on sexual and reproductive health rights and improving their advocacy skills in the field.
Organized by the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) and the Association Marocaine de Palanification Familiale (AMPF), this training session benefited the staff of the CNDH and its Regional Commissions (CRDH), as well as representatives of the AMPF at the regional level.
This workshop resulted in the adoption of the outline of the cooperation action plan between the Regional Human Rights Commissions and the AMPF to promote sexual and reproductive health rights.
In a statement delivered on behalf of the CNDH, light was shed on the importance of partnership with civil society working on human rights. The Council also highlighted the need to promote sexual and reproductive health rights based on international human rights standards.
This training session focused on several topics such as: the rights to health, sexual and reproductive health rights for Moroccans, refugees and migrants, the findings of the national survey on population and family health in 2018, sexual and reproductive health in Morocco and an overview on a comprehensive sexual education approach.
