Mr. Mahjoub El Hiba, Secretary General
Mr. El Hiba has been the CCDH Secretary General since July 2005.
Mr. El Hiba, holder of a PhD (doctorat d’Etat) in political sciences, was the Assistant Dean of the Casablanca Faculty of Law from 1997 to 2000.
He is a national and international consultant in environmental law, human rights and information and communication international law. He is also a founding member of the Moroccan Organization for Human Rights (OMDH).
Mr. El Hiba, who is a member and vice president of the Centre for Studies and Research in Migrations and Human Rights (CERMEDH), is a founding member of the Réseau marocain du droit humanitaire international (Moroccan network for international humanitarian law) and member of the Association Marocaine des sciences de la Mer (Moroccan association for marine sciences).
He is also a member of the Arab Network for Environment and Development, member of the jury of Hassan II Environmental Award, President of the Arab Environmental Award and member of the Advisory Council on Human Rights (CCDH). Mr. El Hiba was also a member of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission.
