CNDH member Ms. Saadia Belmir re-elected to UN Committee against Torture

Ms Saadia Belmir, magistrate and member of CNDH, was re-elected, for the third time, to the UN Committee against Torture, during the Committee’s autumn session. She got 100 out of 139 votes in the voting session of the representatives of States Parties to the International Convention against Torture.

Ms Belmir is the only Arab and African expert to be elected as member of the Committee. She was elected for the first time on November 2005 and re-elected in 2009. She currently serves as vice-chair of the Committee.
